Limited Outdoor 8:30 a.m. Service Starts Sunday June 28
Indoor Re-opening Postponed

First, due to the recent spike in covid-19 cases in Volusia, we have decided to postpone our re-opening date. Rather than set a date, we decided that we will start looking at re-opening plans at the beginning of August. We looked at what other churches are doing, here and around the country, and we know that now is just not the time for a full-blown re-opening at Central.
.
That being said, I continue to get phone calls and text messages from some folks who express a desire for us to have church. So with the deacons permission, we will start this Sunday having a modified church service in the back parking lot at 8:30 on Sunday mornings. The service will last about 30 minutes. Each attendee will be required to have a mask, and to bring their own worship materials, such as a Bible, or communion elements (bread and juice). Bringing your own chair is strongly encouraged. Social distancing will be required, and no bathrooms will be provided. Finally, each attendee will be required to “check in,” meaning give us your name and your number, so that we can track contacts made in case there is a transmission. We strongly encourage those who are over 65 years of age, or who otherwise might be at risk to think twice about attending. As long as these precautions are taken, we plan to meet each week, but will change that if necessary.

So this is our plan for the next few weeks. I know that some Sunday School classes are meeting in alternative spaces, so if you would like information on that, please let me know, and we will get back to you. Like you, I am ready for all this to be over. I long for the fellowship that comes from us being together, but we need to do what is right for the safety of our church members.

We are continuing to do our Sunday morning zoom worship, Tuesday morning and Wednesday night zoom meetings, and we will continue to do that for the near future

Blessings to all of you!
