Dear Central Family:

I hope that your week is going well! I wanted to make sure you know about a couple of things that are coming up at Central.

First, an update on the church conference last Sunday. Both votes passed, with the deacon motion to form the exploratory committee passing by a vote of 35-9, and the Dawnings initiatives being affirmed by a vote of 39-7. As Joan Schrysen pointed out in the conference, we are asking people to commit to pray for the people on the exploratory committee, as well as the people on the search committee for the minister of music and youth. You will find an insert in the bulletin asking you to make this commitment, and we would love for you to tear off the bottom portion of the insert and place it in the offering on Sunday.

Next, a reminder that I will be out of town this coming Sunday. I hope that you will make plans to be in church on Sunday, though. My dad will be preaching on “Passing the Mantle,” and it is a sermon I think the church needs to hear. He shared some of the seeds of the sermon in his mind a couple of weeks ago, and I think you will be uplifted and encouraged, but also challenged by the message.

Finally, we are still looking for auction items for the chili-cookoff coming up on March 1 following worship. I hope that you will make plans to be there, but also that you will make plans to bring a favorite recipe. Entrees need to be turned in by 11am the morning of the cook-off. Make plans to be there, but also make plans to help by finding businesses that might be willing to give away free rounds of golf, or free massages, etc. to help make the auction worthwhile. Call Linda Pigott, Joanne Penny, or Patty O’Sullivan if you have any questions.

I hope the rest of the week goes well for you, and that worship is great on Sunday!

Blessings,

Sonny
