Dear Central Family:

I hope that your week is going well! I wanted to make sure you were aware of some important announcements coming up in the life of the church.

Movie & Discussion — First, tomorrow night and next Wednesday night, we are going to be watching the movie “God’s Not Dead,” which is about a young man who, upon enter college finds himself having to clarify his beliefs about God. The following Wednesday night, we will spend some time discussing some of what we saw in the movie. I hope that you will plan to be at church to share this experience with us. Dinner reservations need to be made for dinner, but the movie starts at 6:20 in Adams Hall. See you there!

Mothers’ Day — Second, Mothers’ Day is coming up, and we are going to do something different this year. You are invited to design tribute cards, and we will piece them together into a mothers’ day collage for the church. These tribute cards must fit into the size of a 3×5 index card, and can include pictures, words, or anything else that you would like to add. The words that you write will be used for a bulletin insert. All cards must be received by this coming Monday at 5pm. If you do not want the words you used to be in the insert, please indicate it on the back of the index card you turn in. Some of our mothers are living, some are not; some are biological, some are not; some are here in town, others are not. But they all are Central mothers, and you are invited to put your creative hats on for this important time of recognition.

Graduation — Third, graduation Sunday is coming up May 17th. We are in the process of putting together plans for this day, and more details are coming. But go ahead and mark this day as yours, graduates! If you have a person in your family who is graduating and is a part of the Central family, we need to know about them. Give the church office a call (255-2588).

60th Anniversary — Finally, the 60h anniversary is approaching September 5th and 6th. This is Labor Day weekend, and we wanted to hold it that day so that people who need to travel would have a chance to do that. Our theme for this anniversary is “We are Central: 60 years and counting!” This will be a time of fellowship, of remembering our rich history, of reconnecting with old friends, but also of pointing our church toward the future God has called us to. More information and invitations are coming, but please make sure to mark the date on your calendar! Also, we are trying to collect photos, audio, and video of our church’s History. If you have any that you are willing to loan us while we make slide and video presentations, please turn them into the church office with your name and number on them, so we can make sure to get them back to you.

That’s all folks! We now return you to your regular programming! Have a great week, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Blessings,

Sonny
