Dear Central Family,

I hope that all is well for you, and that you are staying safe and blessed! I wanted to write you and let you know about three important things in the church, so please read on:

  1. Disaster Relief – Diana Allen, Nancy Jones, and Danny Smith will be heading to University Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sept. 24thto bring supplies to help in the rebuilding effort from Hurricane Ida. University Baptist is a CBF church, and they are committed to helping the folks of southern Louisiana as they rebuild. Attached is a list of supplies that we are hoping to gather for them to bring with them. Central has done things similar to this in the past, especially with Katrina, but also with the earthquake in Haiti several years ago. If you have a chance, please look at the list and find items that you can purchase to help out. Then, when you bring them, let us know you are on the way to the church se we can help to unload the items.
  1. Food bank – the deacons will be discussing and voting on this at their meeting on Monday night, but be on the lookout for a called church conference, as promised, with a proposal for how we can get started with a food ministry starting in October. Details will be on the motion, and the story of how we got to this proposal will be part of the communication meeting that will be forthcoming. However, unless the church decides not to do this ministry, all signs point to us having another opportunity for blessing our community. Check your email on Tuesday for news about this conference.
  1. We continue to be behind on our offering for the year, so we are asking for you to continue or add to your generosity to the church. Even though many church activities are paused, and we are not “back to normal,” we still have bills, insurance, and staff that rely on your generosity. So if you have dropped off in your giving, please consider re-committing to regular tithing. You can send a check through mail, or you can give online at centralbc.org

Thank you for your time, and I hope I can see you again sometime soon!

Blessings,

Sonny
