Dear Central Family,

Thank you for being patient with the leadership as we have been working on the budget. 2020 was an unprecedented year for our church. The old saying that how many nickels you count is proportional to how many noses are in the pews turned out to be true. For the sake of the church’s safety, we feel we made the best decision possible for the church in shutting down and limiting our worship services, but our giving dropped by significant amounts last year, largely due to the pandemic. Because of that drop, we needed to have additional budget discussions with the Trustees of the church before presenting it. But we are ready to present a budget to you for your approval. It is not a “friendly budget,” and it is not one that anyone feels particularly “good” about. But it is ready.

So we will vote on our budget February 28th following church, and we will have a church communication meeting on February 21st following church. These meetings will take place as soon as church is over and will be outside in the parking lot. Please plan to bring a lawn chair so that you can participate in the conversation. Hard copies of the budget will be available after Sunday, and we will send it out by email as well. I hope to see you all there. As always, I am available for any questions that you might have.

Blessings,

Sonny
